In February 2014, when Lonely Planet ranked their "Top 10 extraordinary places to stay in 2014," Tasmania’s own Cradle Mountain Lodge was slotted at number five. And while the destination was praised for its rustic cabins and ‘locally sourced game, wine, cheeses and honey,’ it ultimately made the top five because of how it immersed guests in the solace of Tasmania’s scenic and mysterious wilderness.

At Park Trek, we offer a different sort of immersion into that same wilderness. With Cradle Mountain walking tours, we can give you a chance to experience Tasmania’s scenic environment firsthand—whether that means admiring bushland and mountain vistas, or seeing wallabies in their natural habitat. Bottom line, if you are looking to experience the best hiking that Tasmania has to offer, but want to hire a guide to show you the way to the best trails and most beautiful spots, then one of Park Trek’s Cradle Mountain walks is an essential experience.

What You Get out of a Cradle Mountain Walk with Park Trek

So what do you get from one of the Cradle Mountain tours that we offer at Park Trek? Good question! Each Cradle Mountain walk will include the following items:

  • A four-day hiking trek through Tasmania’s famous Cradle Mountain wilderness.
  • An experienced, friendly and knowledgeable guide.
  • Several fellow travellers; most Park Trek tours include about 10 persons.
  • Three nights of accommodation at the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village—a comfortable casual resort setting with comfortable cabin accommodations.
  • All breakfasts, lunches and dinners across the four days of the tour. (Afternoon tea on the final day is not included.)
  • A life-affirming, unforgettable experience!

All of the above is included in the pricing for one of Park Trek’s Cradle Mountain walk tours! You can learn more about pricing, reservations, specific tour dates and more by visiting our website today, at www.parkrek.com.au.

A Fun But Physically Demanding Journey

Please note that, while Park Trek’s Cradle Mountain walks offer views and vistas that anyone could appreciate, these particular wilderness tours are not for the faint of heart! Because of the hilly and mountainous nature of Tasmania’s Cradle Mountain wilderness, the Cradle Mountain walking tour is one of the more physically demanding and exhausting experiences in the Park Trek catalogue. As a result, we always make sure to inform travellers and prospective customers that a reasonable level of fitness is required to complete (and enjoy!) a Cradle Mountain tour.

If you think the hilly terrain of the Cradle Mountain wilderness might be too much for you to handle right now, that’s perfectly fine! Park Trek offers an array of other wilderness experiences throughout Australia, from coastline hikes (the Great Ocean Walk in Victoria) to island explorations (our Kangaroo Island tours). Browse the many different walking tour options on our website to choose a trip more suited to your personal level of fitness.

If you have any questions about the Cradle Mountain walking tour (or about any other Park Trek journey), please do not hesitate to ask! Shoot us an email at info@parktrek.com.au to learn more.

Testimonials

I have literally just arrived home from my fabulous holiday on Kangaroo Island and I loved every single minute of my time. We had a lovely group with some experts in orchids and birds.

Many thanks and I look forward to doing another Park Trek holiday as soon as I can make the time.

Penny – Kangaroo Island

Thank you for a great holiday. Our guides coped with a wide range in ages extremely well. The older participants were inspirational in what they have done and can still do. It was a good mix of people in the group.

We were lucky with the weather. I enjoyed the walks and the whole trip. Thanks again for all the organising.

Bruce – Kangaroo Island
