Bibbulmun Track - six day walking tour

The south-western corner of Western Australia is home to some of Australia’s most magnificent forests, pristine beaches and rust stained granite headlands.

It also has two of the best walking trails – the Bibbulmun Track and the Cape to Cape track.

The team at Adventurous Women and Park Trek has put together a six day journey that captures the best of these iconic trails and takes in some of the loveliest locations in this famous region.

Delightful accommodation along with comfortable coach transport, excellent catering and the colour and smell of the natural world during autumn makes this a terrific travel experience.

Drive Perth to Pemberton / Walk Cape Naturaliste to Sugarloaf Rock (3.7k)

Depart Perth 8.00am. Leisurely drive towards Margaret River, a region not only famous for producing some of the best wines in the world, but boasting some of the best coastal scenery in the South West.

Stop off for a visit to Margaret River township

Drive to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse

Leisurely 3.7km walk to picturesque Sugarloaf Rock.  This walk will take us along the first stretch of WA’s premier coastal walking trail – The Cape to Cape Track.

Continue onto Pemberton (where we’ll stay for the next three nights)

Overnight accommodation at the Warren River Chalets (or similar) in Pemberton.  The cosy chalet is nestled among the Karri Trees, close to the Warren River.


Beedelup National Park – Beedelup Falls (14.6km)

Travel to the Beedelup National Park

Walk to Beedelup Falls

Call into Pemberton – enjoy a stroll around the town

Optional further challenge – climb the famous Gloucester Tree

Overnight accommodation at the Warren River Chalets (or similar) in Pemberton.  The cosy chalet is nestled among the Karri Trees, close to the Warren River.


Gloucester Tree – Warren River (9.8k)

Walk from the mighty Gloucester Tree continuing into the magnificent karri’s. Enjoy sounds of the birds and the many delightful scents, typical of the south-west forested region.

Enjoy a lovely trail following Lefroy Brook to The Cascades – stop for morning tea.

After a picnic lunch, we’ll visit one of the local wineries, giving you the opportunity to sample some quality south-west wines.

Time to relax at our place of stay or enjoy plenty of bush walking tracks winding their way around the property and through the adjacent forest alongside the Warren River.

Day 4

Valley of the Giants – Conspicuous Beach (15.8km)

Morning trip to the Valley of the Giants – an internationally recognised nature-based tourism attraction.

Experience the excitement of The Tree Top Walk. The walk is 40 metres high above the ground through the canopy of the tingle forest. You’ll enjoy magnificent views of the wilderness from this vantage point.

Enjoy the boardwalk which winds through a grove of veteran tingle trees known as the Ancient Empire.  After passing through heathlands and low woodlands, dominated by the magnificent red flowering gum, the track rejoins the coast at Conspicuous Beach.

Day 5

Conspicuous Beach – Peaceful Bay (15.2km)

Climb up to Conspicuous Cliff-top lookout – be rewarded with spectacular views of the beach, the river flowing into the sea and if we’re lucky, we may spot dolphins or a whale or two!

Walk to Rame Head and then onto Peaceful Bay.  This section of the Bibbulmun Track, is one of Park Trek’s favourites, as it provides the greatest variety of scenery and vegetation seen anywhere along the track.

Day 6

Walpole to Perth

Travel back to Perth

Break at Donnelly River Village – see resident Emu’s and Kangaroos roaming freely around the village.

Lunch stop

Return to Perth (approx. 5pm)
