May 2, 2022 The weather was against us but the guides worked with the conditions. However, I found the lead guide Kate very insensitive. The attraction is beautiful but guides need to be… read more more sensitive to participants needs. Thank goodness for Craig who was thoughtful. Kate seemed to be in a rush and I was left abandoned on the last day with no accommodation in Launceston due to the Covid case contracted by the staff member. I did not have phone coverage which Kate should have noted and helped. She never asked me about how i was going. I borrowed another guests phone to ring 2 hotels to find accommodation. Kate was more concerned about the staffs need rather than guests. I am very disappointed in how it was handled. When they dropped the others off who already had confirmed bookings they were surprised to be told iI wasn’t booked in there. She even intimated I could walk to the Mercure ( I had a duffel bag on wheels and a back pack plus handbag and am 77 years old ) I am fit person and have plenty of bushwalking friends like myself but wonder if that is a mrket you do not want.

I really enjoyed this tour and our lovely guides Emma and Alice provided every comfort possible. Food was superb and plenty, don’t expect to lose weight! I really appreciated that you were invited to bring your own reusable containers or reusable containers were provided. Great to be able to mix your own SCROGGINS (?). The guides were very aware of waste and collected recyclables to take back to town. Emma and Alice were also superb drivers on the endlessly winding roads. Lots of driving on this trip, but then, how else do you get to remote areas. The walks were varied, from beach to rainforest to button grass plains on Mt Donaldson. Swimming was an option, kayaking too at your own leisure if you felt like it. Boat tour was gorgeous with a 6.30am start into the sunrise.
The only thing I missed was a map, I was a bit disoriented where we were driving etc, but we discussed this and all good. Thanks for a very memorable time.

About 3/4 of the walking is on beautiful remote beaches,… read more the remainder on the connecting rocky headlands and one optional easy climb to the top of Mount William with magnificent coastal views. They made very smart decisions to hike in reverse to avoid hiking into the wind all day, making it much more pleasant.Their local knowledge was awesome. You have the opportunity to ocean swim each afternoon, ocean in the high 60s at the end of summer. I thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone with a love of hiking.
