We are proud of our guides and their off-field support team. With great pre-trip planning our guides can focus on you, your group and the environment. They are professionals committed to nature and the environment. They are multi-skilled – drivers, guides, interpreters, hosts, cooks, storytellers and adventurers. They are supported by our office team to ensure your walk’s success.

Mat – Kalamaluka – Tamar Valley, Launceston
Mat came to Tassy in 2021 and fell in love with its wild beauty and the scope for adventures it presented. He has since been living and guiding full-time in Tasmania. As a keen explorer and history buff, he is passionate about sharing Tasmania’s special places and stories with his guests and friends.

Kate – Yugambeh country / Queensland
Kate grew up in country WA, gaining her love for the nature at an early age on Pilbara stations and coastlines. She’s travelled and worked extensively in Australia and offshore! She recently started a degree in Environmental science, to align with her passion for protecting and preserving the environment for future generations.
Gerard – Gunaikurnai / Melbourne
After a stint in the 9–5 as a Land Surveyor, Gerard felt called back to the outdoors. He’s been with Park Trek since 2021, leading tours across Victoria, Tasmania, and beyond. It’s the perfect way for him to share the beauty and stories of the landscapes he walks through. From coastal trails to mountain paths and the outback, Gerard creates relaxed, enjoyable experiences that help walkers connect with their surroundings. Outside of guiding, he’s a musician and performer—his other great passion.

Peter – Wurundjeri Country, Naarm
Peter grew up in bayside Melbourne where he discovered a deep affection for the sea, which led him to a career as a biologist. Now, recently retired from uni life, he’s concentrating on his other beloved past-time, bushwalking the national parks of Victoria. He likes nothing better than to share his knowledge of the fauna and flora, above and below the water, as well as local histories. Fortnightly, he masquerades as Dr Beach on Melbourne community radio 3RRR’s Radio Marinara.

Ivy – nipaluna / hobart
After 20 years running her own business indoors, Ivy went a bit stir-crazy and fell in love with wild places. She began solo expeditions across Tassie and beyond, from The Spires to ridgelines in the Swiss Alps. Ivy is obsessed with mountains – hiking, climbing, paddling, or running, she’ll do it all. Now she loves sharing Tassie’s beauty, stories, and fragile ecosystems with guests, inspiring care for these landscapes for generations to come.

Jess – Djab Wurrung Country
Jess’ love of the outdoors began growing up in Newcastle. After moving to the Gold Coast she became hooked on hiking World Heritage listed National Parks. With a background in Youth Development and Outdoor Education, she loves connecting people with nature to create memorable experiences. Jess travels throughout the year to experience the best that Australia has to offer. Her love of the ocean, surfing, rock climbing, and hiking makes the Three Capes Tour a favourite of hers!

Emma – lutruwita / Tasmania
Emma is an avid rock climber, bushwalker, and all-round outdoor enthusiast. She believes movement is medicine, and quality time in the Tasmanian wilderness with good people is an experience beyond comparison. When not exploring Tasmania’s rugged mountain ranges and dramatic coastlines, Emma is a physiotherapist, pilates instructor and yoga teacher. You might even be able to coax an impromptu class out of her!
Andrea – lutruwita / Tasmania
Born and raised in lutruwita / Tasmania, Andrea has always felt at home in its wild landscapes. With a background in Tourism, Environment and Culture, she’s worked in tourism throughout her career and returned to guiding in 2018—a role combining her love of nature, storytelling and people. She guides across Tasmania’s iconic regions and finds joy in sharing their beauty, from mountain vistas to quiet beaches and wandering wombats.

Bianca – Naarm / Melbourne
Bianca has a lifelong passion for the outdoors and insatiable curiosity about all things in nature. She has a background in education and coaching, she loves to share her knowledge and information about of many Australia’s wild places with all of her guests. When not out exploring on a Park Trek tour, she can usually be found on a downhill mountain bike track, baking sourdough bread or relaxing at remote campsite.

Juanita – Rostering & Logistics Co-ordinator, lutruwita / Tasmania
With more than 10 years industry experience, Juanita has a passion for the outdoors and sharing it with others and has studied ecology. Her adventures and experiences are rich and varied, including creating food gardens in Brazil, working in South Africa, cycling across America, growing up with First Nations communities in the Top-End, and guiding snow-camping groups in the Snowies … and now the best adventure of all – becoming a mum. She contributes to the incredible Park Trek experience from behind the scenes supporting our wonderful guides and guests on tour.

Bailey – General Manager, Wurundjeri Country
Bailey oversees national operations and the sales & tour office. Having grown up in Nebraska, she later studied and successfully completed her undergrad before moving to Colorado to pursue adventures involving hiking, climbing, and skiing. Now, living in Melbourne with her partner, she is, among so many other skills and pursuits, an avid-adventurer and outdoors woman. She now loves exploring the wide-open spaces that make Australia so special.

Alex – National Product & Operations Manager, lutruwita / Tasmania
Alex is our product and operations manager. Living in beautiful St Helens, Tasmania she gets to regularly enjoy the stunning landscapes and nature of the Larapuna/ Bay of Fires region. Having completed her undergraduate studies, Alex has also guided many seasons in Tasmania and on the Mainland. Her adventures and treks are too intrepid and numerous to even try to summarise!

Lorinda – Guide, Bunurong Country
Lorinda has always loved travel and nature. She developed her passion for hiking training for the Inca trail, which lead to more hiking adventures here and offshore. With a background in teaching and psychology, Lorinda enjoys interacting with people and sharing her knowledge and passion for the great outdoors. Her favourite trips to guide are Three Capes, Gariwerd (Grampians) and the Top-End.

Cleo – Happiness & Therapy Dog, Wurundjeri Country
Cleo is an enthusiast for life, nature and companionship. She lives with our owner Charles, his partner Phoebe, and their kids Harrison and Ondine, and their pets, Stream the Macleay-River Turtle and Kobi the rescued Off-the-track horse. She’s always up for a cuddle and a chat. She’s a gentle giant and very loveable. She makes regular visits to check in on the team and to lend a paw wherever she can.

Charles – Co-owner & Managing Director, Wurundjeri Country
Whilst growing up in Melbourne, Charles spent a lot of his childhood on the Sapphire Coast and the Monaro / Kosciuszko region of New South Wales. After working as a lawyer and consultant, he pursued a successful executive career in transport and logistics. He and his family are passionate about time in nature, for kids and adults alike. This passion underpinned his purchase of Park Trek.

All our guides are seasoned professionals, qualified and accredited for the benefit of our guests. Required qualifications include:
- Wilderness First Aid, Remote Area First Aid or equivalent or higher certifications,
- Specific first aid certifications including CPR (HLTAI009), Emergency Life Support (HLTAID010),
- Car (Class C) or MR / HR drivers licence endorsed for PPV/CPV in the relevant State in which they guide,
- Certificate or Bachelor in Guiding, Outdoor Recreation or Outdoor Education, or equivalent to two full years of guiding experience,
- Food Handlers Certificate
- Local knowledge and familiarity of trails, habitat and geography.
