Why consider a private group…
Create your own group
While lots of our guests love to meet new people on tour, we also know some of our guests love to arrange regular walks for a regular group of friends or family. With a private group you curate exactly the group dynamic that you want.
Tailor the experience
Within reason, when you create your own private group we can work with you to tailor the experience to your group’s tastes and desires. Perhaps you really want Milawa cheeses, local produce, Bruny Oysters, Wild Brumby Gin, Clover Hill Sparkling etc.. We can help you tailor a unique experience.
More than 10 in the group
While our regular tours are capped at 10 guests and 2 guides, with a little notice we can cater for much bigger groups when you arrange a private tour. We can even handle groups of up to 40 with some planning and time.
We have a bucket list attraction
Perhaps there is a local attraction that your group really want to see or participate in. For instance, a particular walk, a cultural experience or historical tour. With some planning we can build this on to your private itinerary.
Want something special with food
While our guests generally love the home-cooked style of guide created meals, it’s possible that you may want to have a ‘fancy’ meal in or around the region we walk. With some planning we can arrange that and of course the local community love it when we support their business.

Most of all, with a private group and some advance planning we can generally find a solution to most things. So, if the only thing holding you back is the details, then give us a call or send us an email. In general, we can find a solution to most reasonable requests that revolve around nature and walking!
Frequently asked questions
Must we choose an existing Park Trek itinerary?
Not necessarily. We can tailor the experience from start to finish and we can also arrange group accommodation pre and post tour, it just comes down to your budget and making sure we have enough time to get the details together.
What’s the minimum size for a private group?
Generally, the larger your group the better the value, so it’s best to aim for a minimum of 6-8 persons. We can of course do, and have done, smaller groups however our costs per person will be higher. This is because on any given tour our fixed costs are high as we always require 2 properly remunerated guides per 10 pax, and there’s accommodation we need to commit to ahead of time among other things. .
Are private groups better value?
For groups of 10 the 10th person generally travels free which is a great deal. Otherwise, the final costing will depend upon the complexity of the itinerary, the standard sought and other variables including guide associated costs.
How long will it take to price a private group?
If the private group plans to undertake one of our regular public or private group tours, then pricing can generally be provided within the week. If it’s a more complex proposal, we may need some extra time and we will let you know upfront.
Do you include free spaces for group organisers?
Our pricing proposal can be structured to include free of charge spaces, however the cost of that spot will then be averaged out over the paying guests. We can discuss these sorts of options with you when arranging.
