What our customers say

  • star rating  Three Capes walk in comfort.  - Highly recommend walking with Park Trek. Our guides were amazing. Lodge was very comfortable and the food was very tasty - especially our pre-dinner nibbles and nightly meals. The scenery and history of the Tasman Peninsula was awesome and the walks although challenging were very enjoyable.

  • star rating  For walkers and hikers, this is one of the best trips you can do in Tasmania. The scenery is utterly amazing and the variety of terrains is very diverse. Park Trek is so great, their communication pre-trip is helpful but not over the top, the guides are always really prepared and knowledgable and also just lovely people. The standard of accommodation and food is very good (and lots of it!) and for someone like me who doesn't camp, that matters. I wouldn't hesitate to do another trip with them, this was my third!

  • star rating  Fathers and sons (11 and 12 year olds) end of primary school hike - My son and I are just back from one of the most wonderful three days we’ve spent together. Six months ago, I suggested to him that as it’s his last year of primary school and his friends are all heading to different schools, we ask a group of them and their fathers to go on a hike together (towards the end of the year).
I contacted Park Trek and explained that we had a group of five boys in Year Six and five fathers and were looking for an adventure to share.
Park Trek, from the get go, knew exactly the experience we were after. They assessed the age and fitness of the boys – and their fathers – and suggested a three day / two night hike in Gariwerd / the Grampians. They then helped us prepare with recommendations of food, clothing and hiking equipment, and stayed in touch in the lead up to the big adventure.
Park Trek’s choice of hike was perfect. It was just the right level of challenge for sons – and fathers. Each day we arrived at our destination tired but in high spirits – and on the third day the boys felt proud and a sense of achievement. It no doubt instilled in them a sense on being able to tackle something new and deepened their connection to one another. Hopefully their friendships will continue beyond their primary school years.
It was heartwarming to observe the warm connections between fathers and sons – over three days of quality, slow time – away from the pull and distraction of screens.
It was also lots of fun sharing the experience with four other parents who didn’t know each other particularly well at the start of the trip. Perhaps we should have done this a couple of years earlier – given the connection that formed between fathers.
And seeing the boys’ reaction to rounding corners and seeing breathtaking views was priceless. My son cannot stop talking about the views.
Park Trek was exceptional. Great with the boys and fathers alike. Respectfully conveying the significance of the landscape to First Nations people and educating us on flora and fauna (without overdoing it).
I highly recommend such a shared adventure for parents and children. And highly recommend Park Trek as an organisation to facilitate such an experience. I have no doubt that the five fathers and sons will remember the time together for the rest of their lives.
