New Cradle Mountain tour launched

Cradle pic with walker

Cradle Mountain has long been recognised as one of Australia’s most iconic walking destinations and Park Trek Walking Holidays has just launched a new four-day guided tour to this spectacular destination.

Local Tasmanian guide Greg Porter, who has a remarkable knowledge of the local flora and fauna, will join the Park Trek team to lead the group through some of the area’s most stunning locations.

“Cradle Mountain is one of Tasmania’s most desirable walking destinations, it’s a beautiful wilderness region with so much to see,” says Greg.

“I can’t wait to get the first group out on the ground and explore the terrain, animals, plants and attractions.”

Over the four days, guests will walk parts of the iconic Overland Track, spot wombats grazing on grassy plains and hike over mountainous terrain in search of magnificent views.

The group will also explore the Maryland Track to see waterfalls, walk up to the Cradle Mountain Plateau and wander around scenic Dove Lake.

The trip includes three nights’ cabin-style accommodation in Cradle Mountain Village, all transport and guiding by professional and knowledgable guides, most meals and snacks.

Travellers only need to bring their own clothing, a comfortable pair of walking shoes and a sense of adventure.
