Glaciers, fjords and the Northern Lights – join us in September 2020

Our first ever Arctic Norway tour is almost sold out. With just one place left, we’ve opened a second tour date in September 2020, so there is another a chance to join us for this magical hiking trip-of-a-lifetime.
The tour departs from the northern Norway city of Tromso, the gateway to the Arctic. Tromso is accessible by direct flight from London and other European hubs and it’s well worth spending a couple of nights here pre-tour. You’ll meet up with your guide and group in Tromso before heading further north towards the Lyngen Alps.

The walking in the Lyngen Alps is nothing short of spectacular. We’ll hike to Blue Lake where the intense blue green colour of the lake offers a dramatic contrast to the backdrop of rocky mountains and glaciers.
We’ll walk through the Steindalen Valley to the base of the Steindalsbreen Glacier and we’ll hike to the top of Rundfjellet for glorious views across the region’s mountains, fjords and glaciers.
The walk to the local lighthouse on the tip of the Lyngen Peninsula is a highlight and the remote trails takes us past fascinating ancient Sami sites, giving us some insight into the history of the region. On one day we’ll take a boat trip across the fjord to start our walk, keeping our eyes open for otters in the water on the way.

Our accommodation for the week is in beautiful traditional Nordic cabins set on the edge of a fjord. Here, we’ll relax in comfort, be treated to local cuisine, and rest our walking muscles in the sauna and jacuzzi. A northern lights photography workshop, run by our hosts, will be another highlight.
Special tours like this one don’t last long. You’ll need to book soon to secure your place – call our friendly office staff on (03) 5639 2615 for more information or to book.
