ITINERARY
DAY 1 – Chalwell Galleries, Eurobin Falls and Ladies Bath Falls
Distance: 3 – 4 km, 2hrs walking approx.
Grade: 2, Easy
It is a four-and-a-half-hour drive to Mount Buffalo National Park where we begin our first hike so we’ll break up the journey by stopping in one of the smaller towns along the way where you will have time to enjoy some morning tea and a coffee.
As we arrive into Mount Buffalo National Park we’ll enjoy our lunch at Lake Catani camping & visitors area before heading out to explore The Chalwell Galleries. The galleries are a jumble of large granite rocks forming impressive passages. Some sections are tight to squeeze through and do expect some rock scrambling through the granite outcrop. Enjoy magnificent views over the Buckland Valley and outwards towards Mt Bogong. Today we also visit the stunning Eurobin and Ladies Bath falls.
By early evening we settle into our accommodation with time to relax and unwind before enjoying nibbles followed by a delicious two course dinner prepared by your guides.

DAY 2 – Mount Buffalo National Park – Mollison Galleries or Mount Buffalo plateau loop
Distance: 12-15km, 6hrs approx.
Grade: 3, Moderate
Today we head out to explore a new area of Mount Buffalo National Park. Based on the weather conditions your guides will use their local knowledge to select from our range of options to provide you with the ideal walk for the day to showcase the best that Mount Buffalo National Park has to offer.
The day could see you scrambling through the granite boulders to soak in amazing views across the Buffalo plateau or following the trails taken by the Aboriginal people of the region through tall forests and granite slopes where they seek to find the Bogong moths.
In the late afternoon we will head back to our accommodation for a hearty and delicious two-course meal prepared by your guides.

The stunning walk to Mount Buffalo.
DAY 3 – Mackeys Lookout to Falls Lookout and Mount Buffalo Chalet
Distance: 10 km, 4hrs walking approx.
Grade: 3, Moderate
This morning we make our way back into the Mount Buffalo National Park to check out some more of the incredible sites it has to offer.
Starting from the picturesque Mackeys lookout at 927m above sea level, we meander our way through rocky outcrops and past spectacular views of the Kiewa Valley and surrounding alpine landscape. Mackeys lookout provides the perfect spot to take in the beauty of Mount Beauty and the Victorian Alps.
Making our way up to Falls Lookout, 1,321m above sea level, we encounter spectacular views of the Falls Creek area, providing a different perspective of the regions rugged terrain and cascading waterfalls.
Our turnaround point is at the heritage listed Mount Buffalo Chalet. Built in 1910, this large timber building has served generations of skiers and hikers. We can appreciate the grandeur of the building as we wander the terraced European gardens, which in spring and early summer is a mass of stunning colour.
We then make our way back to our accommodation to freshen up, before enjoying a meal out in the local town to celebrate.

The Mount Buffalo Chalet is where our walk finishes for a relaxing lunch.
Day 4 – Ovens River Canyon Walk
Distance: 6km, 2hrs walking approx.
Grade: 2, Easy
Walking directly from our doorstep we meander our way along the Ovens River Canyon Walk. Enroute we can stop for a coffee and check out some of the beautiful town’s sights.
This stunning walk gives you the opportunity to enjoy the surrounds Bright has to offer, with two pleasant bridge crossings, a myriad of birdlife to spot and an opportunity to swim if you desire.
This afternoon, with smiles on our faces and many stories to share, we’ll head back to Melbourne. We will arrive back in Melbourne to the National Gallery of Victora around 5:30pm.
*Walking times and distances may be adapted to the weather and groups needs based on guides discretion.
Each day we also provide fruit, snacks, tea and coffee and a nibbles platter.
Each evening after our days walking, we return back to our accommodation for some time to refresh and enjoy the spectacular scenery around our accommodation. Your guides will curate a beautiful nibbles platter for you, providing the perfect setting for a relaxing evening. During this time, they will also conduct a briefing, offering insights into the days experiences and outlining your upcoming adventures.
