If you’ve booked on one of our walking tours in Australia or overseas and you’re wondering how to get prepared, we can help.
We have put together a comprehensive new brochure called Get Hiking Ready. It’s full of detailed information that will help you get your fitness levels up and ensure that you have the right equipment for your trip.
The brochure covers four major areas:
- Choosing the right day pack for you and ensuring that it is correctly fitted. This will enable you to walk comfortably, carrying everything you need for your day walk on your back, without sore shoulders
- Choosing the right footwear to make sure you feet are comfortable and well supported – leaving you to focus on the walking, not on blisters and rubs
- Deciding on whether you want to use hiking poles as you walk, to offer additional support and stability on the trail
- An 8-week fitness program plan, which will take you out in to your local streets or exploring your local natural environment to get your walking fitness up. It also includes exercise suggestions to focus on strengthening specific areas of your body.
